Beating Apple, Xiaomi grabbed the second position for the first time in the global smartphone market in Q2, 2021. Whereas, Samsung was still the leading smartphone brand. Meanwhile, Counterpoint reports that Xiaomi has knocked Samsung and became the top smartphone vendor in June.
This is the first time when Xiaomi managed to grab the top position among smartphone manufacturers. However, if the entire quarter is taken into the equation, it still lags behind Samsung in second place.

According to Counterpoint report, Xiaomi sales grew 26% month-on-month in June 2021, which makes it the fastest-growing brand in the month.
Researchers say that the bad effect of Vietnam’s production factory is the main reason behind Samsung’s lag behind Xiaomi. They further explain if this situation does not improve, Xiaomi will continue to earn the stake from the Korean brand. But once Samsung recovers, the ranks are likely to be reshuffled.
