Latest MIUI 12.5 beta update fixes some status bar and notification shade issues

Xiaomi has begun sending the MIUI 12.5 beta update for its Mi and Redmi smartphones in China. The new update that can be identified via the built version 21.7.5 comes with a few bug fixes.

As per the changelog, it fixes the anomaly of inconsistent notification size as well as the problem of garbled characters caused by inputting %. It further mentions the fix for the issue that a small white dot (setting icon) appeared in the upper right corner after pulling down the notification bar in a horizontal screen state.

Besides, recently it was reported that 21.7.5 will be the last closed beta of MIUI 12.5 the company is now planning to start MIUI 13 beta, reportedly with 21.7.6. Adding to this, the MIUI File manager suggested that MIUI 13 beta will officially begin on July 16. If the information is true then MIUI open beta updates will be suspended from July 7, 2021, to July 16, 2021.

Following China in March, Xiaomi has started to roll out the stable MIUI 12.5 update for its eligible smartphones worldwide. In the beginning, the company has only sent updates to new smartphones that run Android 11 OS.

Recently, the OEM has begun sending updates to older smartphones that run Android 10 such as Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi 8 Lite, Mi Max 3, and Redmi 7.
