Xiaomi became top seller of second-hand smartphones in Q2 2021

Recently, Zhuanzhuan Group released the “Mobile Phone Market Report for the Second Quarter of 2021”. According to the report, Xiaomi is leading the secondhand smartphones market that was produced locally in the second quarter of this year in China.

The report further reveals that Xiaomi caught Vivo to become the largest domestic smartphone brand in this market. However, Honor has achieved a high growth rate of 88.34% month-on-month, thus, become the number one brand in transaction volume.

It should also be noted that the price of second-hand Apple iPhone witnessing a steady decline in the market. Whereas, Huawei’s second-hand flagships saw an unstable rise, reached 96.45% for the Mate 40 Pro.

Following the data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, a total of 59 new models were launched in the domestic market from April to May, including 26 5G phones, accounting for more than 44%.

The 5G enabled handsets were the market leaders for the new smartphone segment and 4G was still considered for a notable market share of the second-hand market. In addition, the report also claims that the second-hand mobile phone market in Q2 saw a 10.76% rise in transaction volume over the previous quarter.

Conclusion:

Apple still led the second-hand market with a share of 36.53% in Q2 as Xiaomi led the domestic brands in this segment, with a 13.88% market share. While Vivo and Huawei followed close behind with a 12.7 and 12.04 percent market share.
