Xiaomi MIUI 12 remote assistance feature is now online

Back on January 19, Xiaomi Mi Chat/Mi Talk declared that it will stop giving services from 12:00 on February 19, 2021. A couple of days after the disclosure, users started asking about Mi Chat apps’ most interesting feature “remote assistance“.

This feature allows users to remotely operate the second person’s mobile to modify settings and delete apps while making a video call. Since this is a useful function, Mi Chat app users were really unhappy with its closure.

Meanwhile today (February 8), Xiaomi officially announced that the new version of remote assistance with a specific setting tutorial is released. If you are also a Xiaomi smartphone user, then do check how to set up and operate the Remote Assistance feature.

Before you began:

Your handset must have the Mi Chat app. If it is not available, download it from Mi App Store. The current remote assistance function is carried by Xiaomi Call, the demanded version is 1.2.30 and above.

On the other hand, the controlled terminal mobile phone’s system service component requires version 9.10.80 and above, you can check for updates in the Xiaomi App Store.

How to set up and operate the Remote Assistance feature:

  1. Login to your Mi account in the Mi Chat app,
  2. Start Video calling,
  3. Click on the remote assistance button in the upper left corner to initiate a remote assistance request,
  4. Enter the assistance code in the pop-up window to successfully establish remote assistance.
