Xiaomi has started to roll out the February 2021 Android security update for its smartphones. Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G has become the first to receive it. Meanwhile, there are still some phones that haven’t received the December patch.

As of now, the company has kicked off a new software update with December 2020 Android security patch for Redmi Note 8 Pro. Other than improving the device’s security, the changelog for the update doesn’t mention any major changes.
This newest update carries that Android 10 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.5.0.QGGCNXM. And, to experience it, users will have to download and install the package of 2.4GB.
Currently, the update is only assessable for the Chinese Redmi Note 8 Pro users but it will be sent to more region users in the coming days.
