Xiaomi smartphone with Samsung LTPO Super AMOLED display could be under development

A couple of days ago, iQOO 8 Pro went official as the world’s first smartphone to equip Samsung E5 LTPO Super AMOLED display. A day after its release, a reliable tipster revealed that Xiaomi is also working on a smartphone with the same display.

Following the information by DigitalChatStation, Xiaomi is testing the Samsung E5 LTPO Super AMOLED display for a long time. He further said that the panel uses a relatively smaller punch-hole and adaptive refresh rate, thanks to LTPO technology.

Unluckily, the informer does not tell how much small the punch-hole will be. Currently, the Redmi K40 series has the smallest punch hole cut, which measures only 2.98mm. Thus, we believe that the upcoming phone could arrive in the same size or maybe smaller.

Also, he didn’t give any hint at the name of the product. Since this is a high-end display, it will be dubbed in a high-end phone such as Mi 12 series. Notably, the Mi 12 is already rumored to be equipped with LTPO technology.

Xiaomi Mi 12 Launch Schedule:

Recently, it was reported that Mi 12 will make its debut earlier in December this year. However, this is just speculation based on the launch of the previous model of the line.

Does Xiaomi introduce a single Mi 12 smartphone or the vanilla will come paired with other models too? Right now, we cannot say anything. Last year, Xiaomi uncovered Mi 11 alone in China, later it was introduced in other markets, and then the tech giant announced other smartphones of the line in several markets together.
