Unlike the previous few months, Xiaomi has begun rolling out the August 2021 Android security update for its eligible smartphones at the beginning of the month. A few Redmi and Mi phones have already received the update meanwhile the Redmi 9C is the latest to grab it.

Anyways, you can identify the fresh firmware via the Android 10 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.16.0.QCRMIXM. And, to experience it, you’ll have to download and install the package of 1.8GB on your respective handsets.
It should be mentioned that this is a staged rollout hence it may not be available for all Redmi 9C users manually. Also, it is currently only accessible for global ROM users. As soon as the company ensures its stability, it will be sent to all users.
