Xiaomi Mi 11 audio quality test score is far below expectations

After analyzing the rear camera of Xiaomi Mi 11, DXOMark has put the sound of the device to the test. The reports show that the scores have fallen far short of expectations. Even more, after considering that its sound was developed in collaboration with Harman Kardon.

In detail, DXOMarch put the Xiaomi Mi 11 through Audio test suite to measure its performance both at recording sound using its built-in microphones, and at playing audio back through its built-in speakers.

In this review, DxOMark has given a total of 68 points to Xiaomi Mi 11. Thus it lags behind terminals like OnePlus 8, Google Pixel 5, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro or even iPhone 11 and Asus ROG Phone 3.

According to DxOMark, the Xiaomi Mi 11 has a completely distracting sound. However, Xiaomi Mi 10S and Mi 10 Pro manage to stay at the top of the rankings, this new flagship has very poor sound balance, especially in the high and low mid frequencies.

When we talk about the audio recording, it goes the same. In this section, if we have ideal conditions it is above average. On the other hand, if we do not have the best conditions at the time of recording, the result is compared to very cheap terminals.

In playback testing, the Xiaomi Mi 11 demonstrated correct treble and high-end extension, accurate bass precision, and good wideness. It had a good showing for artifacts, with very few detected overall.

As a result, as far as voice is concerned, Xiaomi Mi 11 is not a bad terminal. Nevertheless, his collaboration with Herman Kardon made some of the more notable predictions, but unfortunately, it remains only marketing.
