WhatsApp’s new archive chat feature helps users avoid annoying chats

Popular messaging platform WhatsApp released a new beta build for Android users, which brings a new archive. This modified function allows users to keep their chats in the archive. Currently, the update hasn’t reached all WhatsApp users as this feature is still under development.

Going by the details, WhatsApp is rolling out the latest 2.21.11.2 beta update in order to expand the new archive feature to more users. It includes a new setting that allows you to keep the archive chat archived when new messages arrive.

When the user will move a chat to the new archive, it’ll automatically be muted and they won’t receive any notification when new messages arrive. Moreover, to show how many chats are in your archive, the archive chat cell is moved at the top of the all chats page. You can also find this option in the archive section that allows you to easily reach this feature without searching WhatsApp Settings.

If you don’t need a new archive, just disable the option, then nothing will change for you, when new messages are received as before, no stored chats will be kept, and the stored chat unit will be located in the chat at the end of the list.

How to find New Archive?

  • Just go to your WhatsApp Settings
  • Select Chats option
  • You may see a new option called “Keeps chats archived”
  • You can tap on it to enable

Besides, since this is a staged rollout, some users may receive the new feature in the newer future. In the meantime, WhatsApp also released a new sticker pack called “Show Asian Love” to every Android and iOS user. You can easily download the new stickers pack by clicking HERE.
