Xiaomi India extends phones’ warranty by 2 months due to Covid-19 pandemic

As the second wave of the Coronavirus continues to rampage across India, the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has today announced that it will be extending warranties on its Redmi and Mi smartphones by 2 months.

Manu Kumar Jain, the CEO of Xiaomi India made the announcement on Twitter, saying that these are challenging times and you shouldn’t be worried about your phone warranty expiry.

Well, it should be noted that this offer will not be applied for all Xiaomi smartphones, it is only valid for Xiaomi India users whose phone warranty was scheduled in May or June this year.

Moreover, last week, Poco India did the same, they have also extended the warranty period of Poco phones by two months. The brand even announced to not conduct any launch in May 2021.

Besides, since January 2020, Covid-19 disease is spreading all over the Earth, the situation is still getting worse day by day. Meanwhile, in order to work out the effects of this disease, many cities in different countries have been closed or locked down.

In this case, the smartphone users whose phone has malfunctioned cannot access the service center. And, this step by the company is really a good way to support users in the pandemic. However, it doesn’t end the epidemic but to will surely help to reduce it.
