This is because the element movement within the lens increases greatly. This effect is more common with telephoto lenses because it requires wider movement to capture ultra-close-range imaging.
Modern requirements for the size of solid-state modules are difficult to obtain. Also, it is hard to defeat the limitations of motor stroke design. Moreover, telephoto and macro shooting are possible by digital cropping and post-magnification. However, this results in low resolution and poor picture quality losses.

The report says the lens is based on the bionic principle. There is a flowable liquid film that replaces traditional optical lenses. This positively changes the focal length and focus.
Moreover, the solid traditional lens comes with a liquid component with fluidity like a human eye lens. By squeezing the liquid lens, its optical power can be continuously changed, through achieving a continuous range from a long-range view to a close-range view.
Not only that, but the liquid lens also reduces the FOV change from a distant view to a close view. There is almost no change during the zooming process from the far view to the normal close view, which is more suitable for video shooting.
