Xiaomi owns 50% of OLED TV market in China

Recently, Xiaomi officially announced that the sales of the new OLED Xiaomi TV have reached 10,000 units. It becomes a new industry record as this exceeded only in 15 days of the TV product launch in China.

Xiaomi owns about 50% of China’s OLED TV market at present. But the current penetration rate of OLED TVs is too low. Therefore, the company’s goal is to continue to popularize OLED TVs, said the general manager of Redmi.

Notably, Xiaomi has often dominated the smart TV market in China for the past months. According to a report by market research firm Avi Cloud (AVC), the Chinese company is leading the smart TV market for 10 consecutive quarters.

Reason behind Xiaomi’s success

The recent sales record is connected to the Mi OLED TV 6 and the Mi Masters TV 77 that were introduced earlier in August this year. These are Xiaomi’s second-gen OLED TVs and comes with the latest internals and features.

The Mi Masters TV 77 comes with a 77-inch 4K screen, several improvements, and price reductions. It has ultra-narrow bezels, 96.2% ultra-high screen-to-body ratio. Also, it has the latest generation of V21 panels, support for  Dolby Vision, Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG.

On the other hand, the Mi OLED TV 6 has two variants of the TV – a 55 inches version and a 65 inches model. Xiaomi has reduced the body thickness to just 4.6mm along with narrow bezels. Also, it has been optimized for heat dissipation. However, they don’t have UWB, Dolby Vision IQ, and other features present in the Mi TV Master 77″ OLED TV.
