Xiaomi is expanding the MIUI 12.5 update for Redmi 8 smartphones globally and in Russia. The update also carries the June 2021 Android security patch for better system security.
It can be identified via the Android 10 based MIUI 12.5 version V12.5.1.0.QCNMIXM globally and V12.5.1.0.QCNRUXM in Russia.

As promised, Xiaomi has begun rolling out the MIUI 12.5 update for Redmi 8 smartphones. Currently, the firmware is only accessible for China ROM users but it will be soon sent to other region users.
Well, when we talk about the changelog for the update, it mentions nothing but the highlight “MIUI 12.5. Yours alone.” Anyways, it can be identified via the Android 10 based MIUI 12.5 built version V12.5.1.0.QCNCNXM.

MIUI 12.5:
This new firmware brings lots of changes in UI as well as in the settings page. The new setting page has a dedicated wallpaper and personalization page that brings all the customization options in a single place.
There are Always On Display settings, a new lock screen layout with different formats, icons that now have support for third-party apps, and more. Apart from this, the MIUI 12.5 has a new-looking volume panel. The camera application has now cards like UI, which shows the additional features visually.
Moreover, it makes many system apps uninstallable and removable. Talking about privacy, with this new update, you don’t need to give the exact location of yours to any application.
The updated Gallery app allows you to make PDFs by the gallery itself, it also gives you more filters for picture and video editing. The updated Notes app will give you a more visual ID for your notes, it also offers drawing tools so that you can make your notes more interesting.
The most interesting feature of MIUI 12.5 is MIUI+. This allows you to combine your phone and computer into a single working station. This isn’t enough for MIUI 12.5, you may notice more changes after updating your phone.
