About MIUI 12.5 for Redmi 8:

Back in October 2019, Redmi 8 entered the smartphone market with power-packed features of its age. In the software phase, it runs Android 9 (Pie) based MIUI 9 OS out of the box.

Later it received some major updates and is currently running on Android 10 based MIUI 12 OS. Well, it has been already confirmed that the phones that have arrived with MIUI 9 are not eligible for Android 11.

However, the smartphone may get MIUI 12.5 as the OEM has previously confirmed it for older Mi and Redmi phones. But the executives didn’t clearly say that Redmi 8 will get the taste of the latest MIUI.
