Xiaomi has a big launch event yesterday. In the event, the tech uncovered Mi Mix 4, Mi Pad 5, new OLED smart TVs, MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, MIUI for Pad, and others. Alongside these, the tech has also introduced its first high-end smart speaker known as Xiaomi Sound.
People would have expected a bulky speaker but the Xiaomi Sound features a compact body and surprisingly, the internal configuration is designed to output a powerful sound. Its tank-shaped body with transparent elements and a floating touch top cover makes it look beautiful.

The product has Harman Golden Ear tuning and Hi-Res certification. Its computing audio technology can achieve dynamic tuning based on dynamic calculations of 330 times per second.
The new “Nightingale Algorithm” can dynamically adjust high and low frequencies at all levels of volume. It can even give full sound quality when one listens to music at a low volume at night.
Moreover, the new speakers are built-in Xiao Ai assistant and Bluetooth 5.2 support. It lets you combine two speakers for a stereo effect but you can add up to 8 speakers for a combined playback throughout the house when connected to the same Wi-Fi.
Furthermore, the home sound transmission lets you use it as a Xiaomi sound speaker or an intercom between a Xiaomi mobile phone and a TV. The speaker has UWB to achieve ‘Point to Connect’ with the latest Mi MIX 4.
Last but not the least, the speakers come with a 2.25-inch neodymium iron boron dual magnetic circuit 12W full 12W frequency unit, equipped with a 54x44mm dual-suspension passive radiator, which can reach a maximum sound pressure of 90dB.
Availability
Xiaomi is yet to announce its availability details. Currently, it is only available in China but we expect that the company will launch this product outside China at some point.
Price
It arrives with a fairly decent price tag of 499 yuan ($77).
