Xiaomi MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition brings four big changes for improved performance

MIUI 12.5, the polished variant of Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 was released in December last year. After its release, fans have started waiting for MIUI 13 but before they introduce the new-gen MIUI, they released the enhanced version of the current MIUI 12.5 skin.

This again gives us a hint that the MIUI 13 will only be based on a single Android OS that is Android 12. Anyways, the MIUI 12.5 enhanced version comes with improved features of the original MIUI 12.5.

Xiaomi says that MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Version is what the company accomplished in optimizing the MIUI system in the last six months. It seems that the MIUI Pioneer Team has not played a key part in its development as it was established recently.

Anyways, the new version fixes over 160 system header problems and 224 system application issues. Also, it brings all-around optimizations for the bottom framework to the top-most application layer.

Moreover, MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition does not come with new features. It only has optimizations in four fields, which are Liquid Storage, Atomic Memory, Focus Calculation, and Intelligent Balance.

MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition

  • Liquid Storage

This is a self-developed solution for storage mechanism optimization. It helps in retaining read and write performance over a long time period.

  • Atomic Memory

This self-developed solution is for memory management mechanism optimization. It improves the performance of holding applications in memory.

  • Intelligent Balance

This intelligently allocates hardware performance as well as power consumption. Also, it seeks a balance between the two.

  • Focus Calculation

Lastly, the Focus Calculation solution is for processor scheduling optimization. It helps in reducing CPU usage and power consumption.

Besides this, the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition stable update will begin rolling out from August 13 in China. The list of devices that will receive it in the first batch is as follows.
