Xiaomi is rolling out a new MIUI 12.5 beta update for its eligible Mi and Redmi smartphones in China. Identified via the build version 21.8.10, the firmware brings several changes, fixes, and new features.
As per the changelog, it fixes the problem that the Memory Expansion function cannot be used when the remaining storage of some models increases from less than 10% to greater than 10%.
It further adds an AI translation function, Mi Mall 816 event card, a new function that Xiao Ai can now query the alarm clock and schedule under the lock screen. For this, go to the unlock setting and turn on the “Check alarm schedule” switch to achieve.

Besides, Xiaomi is currently troubleshooting and repairing the problem of abnormal wallpaper display after the upgrade. Thus, Redmi 10X, Redmi 10X Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 9 5G, Redmi K30 Ultra are temporarily suspended today.
