Fourth price hike makes Redmi Note 10 costlier than Note 10S

Xiaomi is continuously increasing the price of its Redmi Note 10 series smartphones in India. Currently, the vanilla model, Redmi Note 10 is receiving its fourth price hike in the country.

The device entered the markets in two storage variants – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB, which were originally priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 13,999 respectively. Meanwhile, a month after release, the tech hiked the price of both the devices for the first time by Rs 500.

Later, they increased the price of the 4GB RAM variant by Rs 500 for two times. Now, the company has again increased the price of both the devices, which made the top variant costlier than the base model of the Redmi Note 10S.

New Redmi Note 10 Price:

  • Redmi Note 10 (4GB + 64GB) – Rs 13,499
  • Redmi Note 10 (6GB + 128GB) – Rs 15,499

Reason behind the Price Hike:

It is said that the main reason for the price hike is due to the prolonged shortage of ‘Open Cell’ (panel) shortage globally. ‘Open Cell’ accounts for almost 70% of the cost of a television. India mostly imports them from China and Vietnam.

This, coupled with an unprecedented increase in shipping charges, has affected almost all the technology players, including Xiaomi.
