Redmi Note 8 and 8 Pro to get Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 update in India next month

Following the first stable release in China in March this year, Xiaomi has rapidly sent the MIUI 12.5 update for its eligible smartphones worldwide. So far several new and old phones have received the update while others are expected to get it soon.

Some of those phones are the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro. These were launched in August 2019 and are the most famous smartphones worldwide. The tech has even released the 2021 model of Note 8.

Well, both of the devices have received the Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 update in China and globally. But Indian Redmi Note 8 and 8 Pro users are still waiting to get the taste of the latest software builds.

Meanwhile, it looks like they will not have to wait for long as the new information claims that Xiaomi will roll out the Android 11 (R) and MIUI 12.5 update for these models in September this year.

MIUI 12.5 Features

The MIUI 12.5 brings a new UI, updated apps, new animations, new sounds, new super wallpapers, improved privacy, and much more. The app customization allows users to uninstall unnecessary system applications that come pre-installed on the phones.

Adding to this, it has an interesting feature that is MIUI+, which lets users combining their phone and PC into a single working station. The official claimed that the system memory usage has dropped by an average of 35% and power consumption by 25% in terms of fluency.

Android 11 Features

Of course, Android 11 is better than the previous Android version. Similar to MIUI 12.5, Android 11 also brings a handful of new and improved features, animations, wallpapers, themes, sounds, a new design, and others.
