Poco F3 GT with 120Hz AMOLED display, gaming triggers, Dimensity 1200 SoC launched in India

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco has just launched its most-awaited, Poco F3 GT smartphones in India. The key highlight of the new product is a 120Hz AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, and a 5,065 mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging.

With the F3 GT, the Chinese tech giant aims to take on the likes of the OnePlus Nord 2, which went official in the country yesterday. Poco even mocked OnePlus on Twitter by saying that Nord 2 is an ordinary phone.

Anyways, the Poco F3 GT is a successor of Poco F1 that was launched in 2018, and a rebranded version of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Editon that went official in April this year. It carries the same specifications as the Redmi phone.

Display:

The Poco F3 GT flaunts a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display.

Smoother Performance –

With 120Hz refresh rates and a snappy 480Hz touch input rate users can experience the scrolling even smoother.

The snappy 480Hz touch input rate is a spec that’s relevant for how you use a gaming phone – it refers to how frequently your touch is registered on screen. It is useful for quick reactions in games.

Screen Brightness – 

It offers 500 nits brightness. Users can continue to watch and scroll through social media posts even when outdoors.

Processor:

The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. The 6nm chipset also has a GPU whose drivers can be independently upgraded as we have seen with some Qualcomm chipsets.

Software:

The phone runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box.

Storage:

The manufacturers offer three storage variants of the smartphone – 6GB/8GB in addition to 128GB/256GB of internal storage.

Battery:

The smartphones are pre-packed with a 5065mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging. It also supports Quick Charge 3.0 and Power Delivery 3.0.

Camera:

Rear Camera – 

The phone features a 64MP triple camera setup on the back. It is the first in the industry to use an ultra-low dispersion optical glass lens. The 64MP f/1.65 sensor is paired with an 8MP 120° ultrawide angle camera, and a 2MP 40mm macro camera. Also, the camera app is packed with lots of software features.

Front Camera – 

On the front, it has a 16MP selfie camera for selfies and video chats.

Game Shoulder buttons:

The device also features the Maglev triggers that allow users to game optimally using 4 fingers. The company said that the shoulder buttons and physical keys are the perfect pair for an immersive gaming experience.

Tactical RGB Lights:

It has tactical RGB lights, which will help you switch up with different colors for gameplays or as a notification LED. The officials also say that it makes the Poco F3 GT a pioneer in a unique-shaped lightning flash that illuminates your dull, dark moments.

Other Features:

The tech has partnered with JBL for the stereo speakers of the F3 GT. The phone also has Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio (wired and wireless), a 3-mic design (top, side, and bottom), and an x-axis linear motor. It has Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, GPS (including NavIC), and support for AAC, LDAC, and LHDC codecs.

Availability:

The handset comes in two colors variants – Gunmetal Silver and Predator Black. It will be up for purchase starting from 12 pm on July 26 through Flipkart in India.
