Xiaomi has finally begun sending the July 2021 Android security patch for its eligible Redmi, Mi, and Poco smartphones worldwide. Receiving a new update, Redmi 9 users have become the first that can experience the July 2021 patch.
As usual, the security update will save your device from bugs and viruses and will improve the security and stability of your device’s system. However, the changelog for the update doesn’t mention any major changes or new features, users may notice some after updating their phones.

Besides the changelog, the current update for Redmi 9 is based on Android 10 and MIUI 12 OS that can be identified via the build version V12.0.12.0.QCTINXM. But the phone is also eligible to get Android 11 and MIUI 12.5.
It should be mentioned that Redmi 9 has already received an Android 11 update in Europe and globally. Thus, this major firmware update in other regions isn’t too far. And soon, the device will also be receiving MIUI 12.5.

How to Update Manually:
To download the update manually, open Settings of your phone then go to System Updates, click on Download and Install option. Finally, you can restart your phone when the firmware is downloaded.
