Xiaomi has begun rolling out the Android 11 update for Redmi 9 smartphones globally. In addition, the new software update also carries the May 2021 Android security patch.
Recently, the Android 11 update for the device has been sent to Eu ROM users but with June 2021 patch. Anyways, the new security update will save your device from bugs and viruses and will improve the security and stability of its system.

The official changelog for the update further mentions that after you update your phone, location information can be reported automatically before the device is powered off. Besides, no major changes or new features have been mentioned, users may notice some after updating their phones.
Redmi 9 users can easily identify the update via the Android 11 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.1.0.RJCMIXM. To install it, users will have to download the package of 4.6GB on their respective Redmi 9 phones.
When we talk about MIUI 12.5 for Redmi 9, it’s just around the corners as the company has almost finished up sending it to new and flagship phones.
