Google’s Android 12 is on its way, thus, Xiaomi is speedily working on updating its smartphones with Android 11 OS. In the recent development, the company has begun sending the Android 11 update to Redmi 9 smartphones.
However, the Android 11 isn’t the only highlight of the new firmware, it also carries the latest June 2021 Android security patch for better system security and stability. It also saves a system from bugs and viruses.

The changelog further mentions that after you update your smartphone, location information can be reported automatically before the device is powered off.
Besides these, the update log doesn’t show anything. But we already know that Android 11 comes with a bunch of new/improved features and major changes. It updates many system applications, adds new animations, sounds, filters, and much more.
Anyways, it should be mentioned that the update is currently only rolling out in Europe. It may reach other region users in the coming days or weeks. As of now, the EU ROM users can identify the new firmware via the build version V12.0.1.0.RJCEUXM.

MIUI 12.5 for Redmi 9
Following the December launch in China, Xiaomi has begun sending the stable MIUI 12.5 update for its smartphones in March. So far almost all the new and flagship smartphones have received the update.
And, it’s a shift for the older devices such as Redmi 9 series. Thus, the smartphone will be soon updated to MIUI 12.5 skin.
