Redmi 9 receiving June 2021 security update in India
Xiaomi has kicked off a new software update for Redmi 9 smartphones, which mainly installs the June 2021 Android security patch. This update is currently only rolling out in India, while it may be rolled out for other region users in the coming days or weeks.
Moreover, the smartphone which ran Android 10 OS out of the box has already received the Android 11 update in Europe and globally. It is expected that other Redmi 9 users will also get access to Android 11 very soon.

Anyways, as usual, this security update will save your device from bugs and viruses and will improve the security of its system. Besides, the changelog for the update doesn’t mention any new features or major changes.
Users can identify the fresh update via the Android 10 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.11.0.QCTINXM. To experience it, they will have to download and install the package of around 2.4GB on their respective handsets.
