It’s over a week since July and Xiaomi haven’t sent this month’s security update to a single device as the tech giant is busy rolling the MIUI 12.5 updates for its eligible Mi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones.
Moreover, in the recent development, Xiaomi has kicked off a new software update for Redmi 9A smartphones globally. This new update mainly installs the June 2021 Android security patch for a better user experience.

Other than this, the changelog for the update doesn’t mention any major changes, users may notice some minor changes and improvements after updating their phones.

The current firmware update for Redmi 9 holds the Android 10 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.15.0.QCDMIXM, which can be download and installed in 1.8GB of data, Since it weighs high, we recommend that download and install it with an unmetered connection or WiFi.
However, this update is based on Android 10 and MIUI 12 OS but the Redmi 9A is also eligible for Android 11 and MIUI 12.5. Thus, the device will soon be able to access the newer version.
