Xiaomi is rolling out a new software update for Redmi Note 9 Pro smartphones in India. The update mainly installs the Android 11 OS. A few days ago, the update has been sent to global Redmi Note 9 Pro users.

In addition, the new firmware also brings May 2021 Android security patch. This update can be identified via the Android 11 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.5.0.RJWINXM.
Moreover, the official changelog for the update doesn’t mention any major changes but it claims that the location info can be now reported automatically before the device is powered off.
Besides, the update weighs 2.6GB. Thus Redmi Note 9 Pro users will have to download and install the package of 2.6GB to experience the update. Also, since it is more than 1GB, they should download and install it through an unmetered connection or WiFi.
