Redmi K50 series to come with improved fast charging, video/imaging and screen quality

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi launched its K40 series earlier this year. The lineup includes four smartphones – Redmi K40, K40 Pro, K40 Pro+, and K40 Game Enhanced Edition. The first three models were launched in March while the latter one launched in April.

The smartphones were being loved by the masses and after the successful debut in their home country, the company launched the phones in other markets but with different names.

Well, Xiaomi hasn’t stopped here, it seems that the brand had already started working on K40’s follow-up series, Redmi K50. Recently, Lu Weibing, the general manager of Redmi took Weibo to ask what features do they like to see in “future K50 products.”

In addition a reliable Weibo blogger DigitalChatStation also dropped a few information of Redmi K50 series. Most notably, he mentioned that the upcoming phones will offer improvements to fast charging, video/imaging, and screen quality.

Specifically, fast charging would be a sensible part of improvement, as the Redmi K40 series has 33W charging for its 4,520mAh battery. However, that’s a pretty respectable figure that charges the full battery in just 50 minutes, but we’ve also seen rivals offering 50W or 65W charging.

Besides, there is no word on when the K50 series will be introduced. It looks like the timing of the Redmi executive’s tease suggests the phones will launch later this year. It could probably within the next few months, rather than in 2022.
