Redmi Note 9 getting Android 11 update globally

We know that along with MIUI 12.5, Xiaomi is also working on providing Android 11 updates to its eligible smartphones. In the recent development, the OEM has begun the Android 11 to Redmi Note 9 devices.

The update is currently only accessible for Global ROM. Also, all Redmi Note 9 phone users are not eligible for the update as this is in Mi Pilot Terser build. Thus, for now, only Mi Pilot testers can have a taste of Android 11.

Moreover, the update carries the Android 11 based MIUI 12 version v12.0.1.0.RJOMIXM. Well, the information has been revealed through Mi Community and the developers haven’t mentioned changelog for the update.

Right now, we cannot clearly say what the firmware carries. But according to the company’s previous rollouts, we can expect some UI changes.

Besides changelog, the OEM hasn’t provided download links as well. Therefore, it makes sense that Pilot builds are typically not installable for those that aren’t a part of the Mi Pilot Testers program anyway.

Non-Pilot Testers must be wondering, when will they get updates? So for them, Xiaomi usually makes the wider stable roll out a couple of weeks after it makes it to Mi Pilot Testers.
