Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition launched with dual magnetic gaming triggers, Dimensity 1200 chip and more

Today (April 27, 2021) Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched its first gaming smartphone, Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition in China. Well, you can also pick up any regular smartphone with a capable processor and play the latest mobile game on it.

But gaming smartphones make that experience better with the extra features that they have such as a better display, bigger battery capacity, faster-charging technology, and more. That’s what the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition brings to the table.

The Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition flaunts a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display.

Smoother Performance –

With 120Hz refresh rates and a snappy 480Hz touch input rate users can experience the scrolling even smoother.

The snappy 480Hz touch input rate is a spec that’s relevant for how you use a gaming phone – it refers to how frequently your touch is registered on screen. It is useful for quick reactions in games.

Screen Brightness – 

Both models offer 500 nits brightness. Users can continue to watch and scroll through social media posts even when outdoors.

PROCESSOR:

The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. The 6nm chipset also has a GPU whose drivers can be independently upgraded as we have seen with some Qualcomm chipsets.

SOFTWARE:

The phone runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box.

STORAGE:

The Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition sports 6GB/8GB in addition to 128GB/256 of internal storage.

BATTERY:

The smartphones are pre-packed with a 5065mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging. It also supports Quick Charge 3.0 and Power Delivery 3.0.

CAMERA:

Rear Camera – 

The phone features a 64MP triple camera setup on the back. It is the first in the industry to use an ultra-low dispersion optical glass lens. The 64MP f/1.65 sensor is paired with an 8MP 120° ultrawide angle camera, and a 2MP 40mm macro camera. Also, the camera app is packed with lots of software features.

Front Camera – 

On the front, it has a 16MP selfie camera for selfies and video chats.

OTHER FEATURES:

Redmi has partnered with JBL for the stereo speakers of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. The phone also has Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio (wired and wireless), a 3-mic design (top, side, and bottom), and an x-axis linear motor. It has Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, GPS (including NavIC), and support for AAC, LDAC, and LHDC codecs.
