WhatsApp is a famous free-to-download messaging application for all smartphones. It runs on the internet and can send photos, videos, documents, locations, and more. However, in the past few years, WhatsApp has been developed a lot.
Last year, the application introduced a new feature called “Disappearing messages”. When enabled, it automatically removes the received and sent messages of the chat after a specific period. Presently, WhatsApp Messenger allows you to choose only one option to disappear messages after 7 days.
Now our folks over at WABetaInfo reported that the Facebook-owned company is working on a new option to configure disappearing messages. The report claims that WhatsApp is likely to bring this option soon.

However, the blogger believes that this feature, which will let WhatsApp users a rapidly disappearing message setting is under development. When enabled, all the received and sent messages will be disappeared (cleaned/removed) from the chat after 24 hours. It’s worth mentioning that the company is reportedly working on this function since last month.
As per the information, both people can change the setting in personal chats. At the same time, any member can make changes in the settings but the group admin can also regular who can change that setting through Group info >> Group Settings.
A few things to be noted that, the new 24-hour disappearing messages option comes with WhatsApp Android Beta v2.21.9.6. Surprisingly, WhatsApp added the 24-hour option but forgotten to update the header, which is still showing only 7 days reference.
