Xiaomi releases Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 beta update for Redmi Note 8

In December 2020, Xiaomi officially introduced the new version of its Android-based custom skin, MIUI 12.5. Now, the company has started to roll out the stable MIUI 12.5 update for its eligible smartphones.

Some handsets including Mi 11, Mi 10 Ultra, and Mi 9 SE have already received the update while many are about to. Besides, the OEM has now started to roll out this beta update for Redmi Note 8 smartphones. It means that the smartphone will soon receive a stable update.

The Redmi Note 8 was one of the best budget smartphones of its time. The device debuted with MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie. It was later updated to MIUI 11 and MIUI 12. The handset even got Android 10 and currently, it is running on the Android 11 operating system.

Coming to the MIUI 12.5, the new-gen MIUI comes with a lot of changes, improvements, new features, and more that you will surely notice after updating your handset.

It comes with the support of Android gesture Turbo, which is a framework enhancement that results in CPU and GPU optimization. Once it is enabled, it provides a bunch of customizations including General settings, Performance mode, Game DND, and additional settings for the user.

Moreover, the MIUI 12.5 also brings system animation design, new light cone dynamic effect architecture, system sound design, hundreds of global biological sounds, new super wallpapers, and more.

Adding to this some system apps have also been improved, for example, the updated Gallery app allows you to make PDF by the gallery itself, it also gives you more filters for picture and video editing. The Notes app will give you a more visual ID for your notes, it also offers drawing tools so that you can make your notes more interesting.

Aside from these, a smartphone user usually unlike that the system application can not be uninstalled or removed. So keeping this in mind, Xiaomi has developed MIUI 12.5 in the way that it is able to remove or uninstall system applications.
