POCO F3 may debut outside China as a rebadged Redmi K40, hints FCC certification

Later last month, Xiaomi launched its newest flagship smartphone lineup- Redmi K40. The series includes three models – Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro+. These devices come with several new and most advanced features.

However, as of now, these handsets are only available in China. Earlier, it was reported that Redmi K40 5G phones could be launched globally with Poco branding. Meanwhile, the new report claims that a new Poco smartphone – Poco F3 has spotted at Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database in the U.S.

The new model holds the model number M2012K11AI for its Indian variant while the Redmi K40 in China holds M2012K11AC. Moving forward, before getting certified by FCC, the M2012K11AG was seen at more certification sites – Indonesia Telecom, Indonesia’s TKDN, Singapore’s IMDA, Europe’s EEC, and TUV Rheinland.

Moreover, the FCC listing reveals only a few details about Poco F3. According to the news, the device supports 5G networking, dual SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, NFC, and MIUI 12.

Redmi K40 specification: 

The base model Redmi K40 is amongst the first smartphones to offer Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. Other key features of the Redmi K40 include a 120Hz AMOLED display with a small punch-hole cutout, 5G support, up to 12GB of RAM, and a 4520mAh battery.
