Redmi K40 5G phones to be launched globally with POCO branding

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has just launched the Redmi K40 series in China. The series includes three variants – Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro+. However, the official hasn’t confirmed its launch date for global markets.

Meanwhile, according to the new information, the Redmi K40 will be launched globally as a 5G Poco phone. The information is based on an Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) listing.

The listing shows that the M2012K11AG (global Redmi K40 variant) being certified as a Poco smartphone. Poco has, on several occasions, launched Redmi smartphones as its own. The Redmi K30 was launched as Poco X2 globally, and it looks like the Redmi K40 will also be rebranded as a Poco 5G phone.

The IMDA listing reveals that the Poco phone will come with 5G connectivity, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC, which are expected features. There is no word yet on what this phone will be called since the Poco X3 has already been launched.

With the Redmi K40 expected to launch with flagship specifications, it’s possible Poco will launch it globally as part of the Poco F series.

Redmi K40 lineup:

As the names of the Redmi K40 themselves suggest, the Redmi K40 Pro is a strong version of the Redmi K40, whereas the Redmi K40 Pro+ is the premium smartphone in the entire series.

All three phones have the same display and design. Also, they come in the same color options, but the hardware underneath differs, especially the camera hardware. Unlike the Redmi K40 5G, the Redmi K40 Pro and the K40 Pro+ are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC.
