Xiaomi is currently working on providing Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 update for its several Redmi, Mi, Poco, and BlackShark device. In the meantime, the company is also sending monthly security updates to these devices.
Some Xiaomi devices including Mi Play, Redmi Note 8, Redmi 9A/9AT, Redmi 8, Redmi Note 8T, Redmi Note 9S, and Poco C3 have already received the January update. Meanwhile now, the Chinese OEM is sending this update to Redmi 7 smartphones in China.
The latest update comes with multiple numbers of optimization, new features, as well as fixed some known bugs for users’ experience enhancement.
As per the official changelog, the update adds a new function in the Control center – Swipe down from the upper left corner to open the Notification shade and from the upper right corner to open the Control center.

It further fixes the bug that the Notification shade wasn’t displayed correctly in Dark Mode, and the Control center wasn’t always displayed correctly in landscape mode. Adding to this, it also optimizes system animations, control center, and dark mode.
The latest update comes with the Android 10 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.1.0.QFLCNXM and to install this update, Redmi 7 users will have to download the package of 2.3GB on their devices.
