How to Check Battery Health on Xiaomi Devices

A bad battery can also affect your usage and performance of the smartphone. In poor conditions, they may swell or even burst. That’s why in this article, we share some common ways to check if your battery is healthy and safe.

How to Check Xiaomi Battery Health using ADB/LADB:

With this ADB method, all you need is a PC and a phone connected to it. However, for battery health, you can use the LADB app as well. Anyway, those who want to go the old way will need to install the ADB driver and enable developer options on their phone to turn on the USB debugging feature.

This method gives measurement correctly when your device is fully charged. Otherwise, the measurements will be incorrect. To go into the method follow the following steps:

  • Open command prompt (cmd) on PC.
  • Type “adb shell” and connect your phone to your PC. If the drivers are installed properly, the PC will detect the phone and you will see the device codename on the command prompt.
  • If everything is correct, type “dumpsys battery” and enter.

ADB

With this method,  you can check the current, voltage, capacity, temperature, and all other information about your device’s battery. The “Charge counter” in the information shows the battery capacity of the device, and “status” means whether the battery is full or not. It will show as “Status: 5” if your battery is fully charged.

The data will of course vary based on your battery capacity, but the image above shows a battery that still has a charge counter of 2368000, or 2,368mAh available.

Check Xiaomi Battery Health using Bug Report Method:

Xiaomi smartphones with MIUI have an alternative way to check battery health. You can do so by creating a bug report in the software, and it uses the same math formula.

  • Open the Setting.
  • Click on the My Device.
  • Then view all specifications.
  • Click on CPU info 5 times.
  • The device will create a bug report and you’ll be able to find it from the status bar.
  • Locate and extract the bug report zip file that matches the date you created the bug report. You can use the native file explorer to do so.
  • Click and enter the file you extracted, there is another zip inside. Extract this zip file and enter in this.
  • Open the text file in the last compressed file you extracted in a text editor and search for “healthd” in it.

The health line contains the fc value. It shows the current capacity of the device’s battery. You can get the amount, for example, by FC = 4600,000 for a 46,00mAh battery.
