Design of Shenzhen International Headquarters of Xiaomi Group unveiled

Ennead Architects announced that it had won the bid for the international design competition of Xiaomi Group Shenzhen International Headquarters and served as the main creative architectural design unit of the project. The Mi Shenzhen International Headquarters and Mi Home flagship store will form the lighthouse of Shenzhen Bay-the “Mi Rubik’s Cube”.

Moreover, the total construction area of Xiaomi Shenzhen International Headquarters is approximately 46,000 square meterswith LED screens that surround the four-story podium of the building at 360 degrees.

“The architectural inspiration comes from the focus and sense of science and technology that the Xiaomi brand brings to the public.” Peter Schubert, ennead design partner and the chief architect of Xiaomi Shenzhen International Headquarters, said, “The design of’Mi Rubik’ The concept is based on the architectural dynamics and guides the interaction and integration of various functional spaces. The concrete representation shows the unremitting innovation and collaboration spirit of Xiaomi’s culture and mission.”

In June 2020, Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government and Xiaomi Communication Technology Co., Ltd. held a headquarter economic development cooperation agreement signing ceremony in Shenzhen Civic Center. Xiaomi Group established Shenzhen Xiaomi Information Technology Co., Ltd., a headquarter company in Shenzhen, and established Xiaomi Group International Headquarters in Nanshan District Houhai Financial Business Headquarters Base, building an international headquarters building, which mainly includes smartphones and artificial intelligence centers, business development centers, and Internet service centers.

Furthermore, the three major sectors will further expand the international market and realize the strategic layout of the headquarters economy leading the innovation ecology. According to previous information, Xiaomi Group plans to invest 7.76 billion yuan in Shenzhen to build Xiaomi’s international headquarters. It is estimated that from 2020 to 2024, the cumulative operating income will be about 51 billion yuan, and the local financial resources will be about 600 million yuan.

In October 2020, Shenzhen concentrated on the sale of 3 commercial lands with a total starting price of 731 million yuan. In the end, all 3 plots were sold at the reserve price. Among them, Shenzhen Xiaomi Information Technology Co., Ltd. won the T107-0092 plot of 531 million yuan.
