Qualcomm has just introduced its new-generation processor for flagship smartphones named Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Soon after its launch, it has been reported that the high-end phones featuring the new chipset will start to make their debut this month.
One of those smartphones is Xiaomi 12. In a recent development, Xiaomi officially announced the arrival of Xiaomi 12 smartphones. Alongside this, the Chinese company also declared that the forthcoming phone will be featuring the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
The successor to last year’s Snapdragon 888, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the first chipset to bear Qualcomm’s new naming scheme, bypassing the triple-digit numbering system that Qualcomm has previously used for new, generation-based monikers.
The CPU maintains the three cluster design, however, the cores are now based on the ARMv9 design. Overall, the new CPU will be 20% faster than the Snapdragon 888, while reducing power usage by up to 30%.
Leading to the GPU, the new Adreno ensures a 30% performance boost and up to 25% power savings thanks to its new architecture.
Xiaomi 12
In the past few days, we meet several leaks and rumors about the upcoming Xiaomi 12. A eak suggest that the phone will be launching on December 16. Although there’s no official confirmation on the launch date, we believe that the OEM will soon make an announcement as it has already started teasing the product.
When talking about its specifications, it will reportedly equip a 2K screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate adjustment, which can be switched according to the usage scenario. Aside from this, Xiaomi 12 will be featuring the 100W fast-charging system, a 50MP telephoto, and an ultra-wide lens set up.
