Qualcomm introduced its new-generation chipset for flagship smartphones named Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The newest Snapdragon flagship SoC will be powering all upcoming 2022 devices.
Currently, manufacturers like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, and Motorola are confirmed to bring Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset to their upcoming flagships. The first smartphone featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip is said to arrive before the end of this year, could be Xiaomi 12.

Moving to specification, the successor to last year’s Snapdragon 888, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the first chipset to bear Qualcomm’s new naming scheme, bypassing the triple-digit numbering system that Qualcomm has previously used for new, generation-based monikers.
