Earlier this month, we have been notified that Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro will get Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 update in India somewhere in September. Ahead of the schedule, the OEM has begun sending the update for Redmi Note 8 Pro in the country.
The new firmware can be identified via the Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 build version V12.5.3.0.RGGINXM. And, to install it, users will have to download a package of 2.3GB on their handsets.
Notably, the update is currently only rolling out for Mi Pilot testers but will soon reach all users after ensuring security and stability.

Moreover, the changelog for the update mentions a handful of changes and new features. However, these are less than what the tech giant offers in China. Maybe, the company adds them in the future.
Anyways, the MIUI 12.5 completely changes the Mi Notes app. It adds new tools for doodling and sketching, press and hold a sketch option to adjust the strokes automatically, and compose mind maps with complex structures.
Furthermore, a gesture shortcut now allows you to create notes, tasks, and excerpts anywhere and dynamic layouts bring the typography in Notes to a new level.
The firmware also comes with the July 2021 Android security patch for better system security. Last but not least, the changelog mentions that all upcoming system updates will now be provided by Google.
