Xiaomi’s Mi branding is the most notable label among all Xiaomi brands. The ‘Mi’ brand has been its common trademark for the past 10 years. Recently, there were rumors that the company is planning to drop the Mi branding for its future products and will be using the name ‘Xiaomi’.
Meanwhile, the company has now officially announced that they aren’t intending anything like this. The tech giant will continue to release its products with the Mi logo globally. However, the OEM has already left the Mi branding for many of its products in China.

Xiaomi will not stop using Mi Branding
Yesterday, Wang Hua stated that some media might have misunderstood that Xiaomi is abandoning the Mi Logo but this is not the case. He said that this logo has the most important position in all applications and is the only brand logo of Xiaomi Group in the world.
It is used as the corporate image, product promotion image, and channel image of Xiaomi Group. It is a brand identity that exists independently.
The Xiaomi letter logo and Redmi letter logo are respectively applied to the attribution series of products, packaging, and dissemination to show their product identity. Therefore, Xiaomi does not say that it will stop using the Mi brand globally.
New Xiaomi logo
The new Xiaomi logo was introduced at the Mega Product Launch Event in March this year. This time, Xiaomi has gone with rounded corners, which look like icon packs. So you now have a squircle in place of the old square logo.
Designed by Kenya Hara, a professor of Musashino Art University and the President of the Nippon Design Center (NDC), Xiaomi’s new visual ID is worth 2 million yuan.
