Xiaomi Mi TV Webcam with Full HD video, dual far-field mics launched in India

After a couple of weeks of teasers, Xiaomi has finally uncovered its first-ever accessory for Mi TVs and Redmi TVs in India. The product is Mi TV Webcam that looks similar to the OnePlus TV camera, which was launched recently. However, the Mi Webcam is cheaper.

Moreover, the Mi TV webcam is designed as an accessory, especially for your smart TVs. It is also compatible with laptops and computers. It offers a Full HD video quality and has two far-field microphones for audio recording.

Xiaomi Mi TV Webcam specifications

The Mi TV webcam from Xiaomi supports video calls via Google Duo. It features a 2MP sensor that supports 1080p (FHD) video recording at 25fps. It has a 71° FOV (field of view) and is limited to fixed focus.

The manufacturers have equipped the Mi TV webcam with a 3D image noise reduction algorithm that is touted to help reduce picture grain. The camera also comes with dual stereo microphones that are capable of capturing audio from a distance of up to 4 meters.

It comes with a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable for universal compatibility across various devices. Its magnetic base allows you to attach the device seamlessly to any metal surface. There is a physical cover that can cover the lens when not in use.

Compatability

Xiaomi says that it works with Android TV or streaming box with Android TV 8 or above, laptops and desktops running Windows 7 or later as well as Apple Macbooks and other Macs.

How to set up Mi TV Webcam

The users can set up Mi TV webcam by installing the Google Duo app from the Android TV store and pair the webcam to it, finally, they can make or receive calls using the webcam.

Availability

The Mi TV Webcam will be available to buy on the company’s official website – Mi Home and Mi Studio stores starting from June 28th.

Price

Xiaomi has priced the Mi TV Webcam competitively in India at just Rs 1,999. Notably, the OnePlus TV Camera is priced slightly higher at Rs 2,499.
