Redmi 9C NFC grabbing May 2021 security patch

It’s June and similar to other smartphone brands Xiaomi has also started rolling out the security update for this month. At the same time, the company is also sending May 2021 Android security update for smartphones that haven’t yet received it.

In the recent development, the OEM has sent the update for Redmi 9C NFC smartphones. Currently, it is only accessible for global and European ROM users, it may reach the other regions in the coming days/weeks.

As the name mentions, this is a security update, therefore, it will save your device from bugs and viruses and will improve the security of your device’s system. The changelog for the update further mentions that location info can be now reported automatically before the device is powered off.

When we talk about its updated version, it comes with Android 10 based MIUI 12 build version V12.0.8.0.QCSEUXM. To experience it, users will have to download and install the package of 1.8GB, which is recommended to be download by an unmetered connection or WiFi.

On the other hand, Redmi 9C NFC was launched in August last year. It entered the smartphone market with some of the latest features of its age including the Android 10 operating system. However, the device is eligible for Android 11 as well as MIUI 12.5 update, hence it will soon receive them.
