Redmi 9 Prime gets June 2021 security patch alongside new firmware update

After a couple of weeks of June month, Xiaomi has finally begun rolling out the security updates for this month. Among several Mi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones, Redmi 9 Prime becomes the first to collect it.

The device entered the smartphone markets with pre-installed Android 10 based MIUI 11 OS in August 2020. Soon after its launch, it received MIUI 12 update, however, Android 11 for Redmi 9 Prime is yet to be rolled out.

Anyways, the latest, June 2021 Android security patch will save Redmi 9 Prime from bugs and viruses and will improve the security of its system. The official changelog for the update also mentions that location info can be now reported automatically before the device is powered off.

Moreover, the fresh update which weighs 2.0GB, can be identified via the Android 10 based MIUI 12 build version V12.0.3.0.QJCINXM. It is recommended that users should download and install it by using an unmetered connection or WiFi.
