Xiaomi has begun sending a new software update for Redmi 9 smartphones in India. The update mainly installs the May 2021 Android security patch to enhance users’ experience.
Redmi 9 is one of the most famous smartphones among all Redmi phones there. It entered the markets with pre-installed Android 10 based MIUI 11 OS. Later it received MIUI 12 update. Also, it has received an Android 11 update in its home country, other ROM users may soon get it.

Anyways, the security update will save your device from bugs and viruses and will increase the security of your device’s system. The changelog further mentions that the location info can be now reported automatically before the device is powered off.
Furthermore, the May 2021 Android security patch for Redmi 9 smartphones can be identified via build version V12.0.10.0.QCTINXM. And, to install it, users will have to download the package of 1.7GB on their respective handsets.
