Xiaomi preparing to re-enter smartphone chip market as it hiring new team!

In March this year, Xiaomi uncovered Surge C1, the company’s first imaging chip. Soon after its release, we have started hearing rumors that in collaboration with Samsung, the company is planning to release another chipset.

Meanwhile, as per the new information, the Chinese tech giant is hiring new members to re-enter the mobile phone chip market. Also, the company has started the licensing process of negotiating with IP service providers.

In regards, a familiar Xiaomi fan said to the reporters that the OEM is aiming to make mobile phone chips. However, the first chip could not be a chip for smartphones, it may start with external chips.

Earlier in October 2014, Xiaomi established a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beijing Songguo Electronics and entered the chip manufacturing industry. After three years, Xiaomi finally succeeds in developing its own chipset. Surge S1.

Since then, there were no official words about any new chipset, while the company presented Surge C1 this year. After its release, Lei Jun, the founder and CEO of Xiaomi, said that they will continue to manufacture chips.

A few weeks ago, we have come to know that Xiaomi and Samsung are in discussions about creating a custom SoC. Apparently, the pair have had five meetings to date with a view to developing an SoC based on Cortex-X2 cores. ARM is yet to announce the Cortex-X2, although it is expected to do so within the next few months and using its v9 architecture.
