Redmi 10X 5G receiving Android 11 update alongside April security patch

It’s almost a year when Xiaomi launched Redmi 10X series in China. The lineup includes three smartphones – Redmi 10X 5G, 10X Pro 5G, and 10X 4G. All of these devices came pre installed with Android 10 based MIUI 11 operating system.

However, soon after the launch, the devices received MIUI 12 update but haven’t get Android 11. Now as per the new information, the base model Redmi 10X 5G is now grabbing the Android 11 update. It is expected that other two devices will also get Android 11 very soon.

Anyways, along with the major update, the OEM has also kicked off April 2021 Android security patch of it. As usual, this security update will save your device’s system from bugs and viruses and will increase the security of it.

Adding to this, it also brings an option that allows you to restrict opening Control center while on the Lock screen and another option to switch between connected devices in the notification about media playback. Also, the GPS toggle renames as “Location”.

Furthermore, the new update can be identified via the Android 11 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.1.0.RJHCNXM. It weighs 2.8GB, therefore, it is recommended that the update should be download using WiFi.
