Last week, Xiaomi started rolling out the April 2021 Android security patch for its eligible Mi, Redmi, and POCO smartphones. Several devices such as Poco X3 Pro, Mi 11 Lite, Redmi 9C, Redmi 9A, and more have already received the update while some are about to.
Meanwhile, the Redmi 9 Power is the latest phone to receive it. The smartphone was launched in India in December last year. It came pre-installed with the Android 10 based MIUI 12 operating system and is eligible to run Android 11 also.

Moreover, as the name of the update mentions, this is a security update therefore, it increases the security of the system and saves it from bugs and viruses. Besides, the official changelog doesn’t mention any new features or major changes.
Anyways, this new firmware can be identified via the Android 10 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.7.0.QJQINXM. And, the Redmi 9 Power users who are interested in experiencing it will have to download and install the package of 3.3GB on their smartphones.
