Redmi to launch new product this month, alleged to be gaming phone

Xiaomi recently launched several new smart products in the spring new product launch event. Now as per the new information, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is also holding a launch event this month.

This information was revealed by none other than Wang Teng, the Product Director of Redmi while replying to a netizen on Weibo. Unfortunately, he has not revealed what the company is about to launch at that event.

On the other side, earlier last month, the same executive asked the people interested in gaming smartphones to wait a bit further. Therefore, there is a high chance that the upcoming launch event could be for the Redmi gaming smartphone that was officially confirmed in January.

Also, the company has confessed that the phone will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. There’s no much information available about this handset but we expect to learn more about it in the coming days since the brand has started teasing its release.

Adding to this, he previously reported that the Redmi gaming phone may also add a game shoulder button similar to the Black Shark phone. Reports reveal that the device could be sporting a quad-camera system led by a Sony IMX686 primary camera.
