Breaking: United States court removed Xiaomi from blacklist

Back in January this year, the Trump administration has blacklisted nine Chinese companies for their alleged connections with the Chinese military. Companies that have been delisted include Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi.

Meanwhile, in late January, Xiaomi filed a lawsuit against the US Department of Defense and Treasury. In this respect, the company claimed that Xiaomi has always followed legal and assent functions and abided by the relevant laws and rules of the place of operation.

In this regard, today, Xiaomi issued a statement stating that it was an arbitrary decision to include Xiaomi on the list of Chinese military-related companies and the court agreed with this. Xiaomi continues to request the court to finally rule that the decree is invalid for the company.

As per the new information, Xiaomi’s new statement says that the electronic products produced by the company are for ordinary consumers. Below is the full text of Xiaomi’s statement.

Xiaomi was very pleased to see that on March 12th, Eastern Time, the court officially prohibited Xiaomi from being recognized as a Chinese military-related enterprise and stopped the restrictions imposed by Executive Order 13959 on Xiaomi.

The court passed an injunction to lift the restrictions on American investors to buy and hold Xiaomi stocks and cancel the mandatory sale of Xiaomi stocks, and the ban took effect immediately.

The company would like to emphasize once again that Xiaomi is a listed company with independent management and decentralized equity and publicly traded stocks. The electronic products we produce are for ordinary consumers.

The court said we believe that adding Xiaomi to the list of Chinese military-related companies is an arbitrary and arbitrary decision, and the judge also agreed with it. We will continue to request the court to finally rule that the decree is invalid for Xiaomi.
