The newest update for Redmi 8A smartphones which installs the January 2021 security patch ha begun rolling out in Indonesia as well as India. Alongside the security patch, the update also brings several optimizations and fixes.
According to the changelog, the update adds new functions in the Control center, privacy protection, and dark mode. It also adds new animations so that users can feel natural and refreshing.

It further fixes the bug that the notification shade wasn’t displayed correctly in Dark Mode and the Control center wasn’t always displayed correctly in landscape mode.
Update Version:
The update brings the Android 10 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.1.0.QCPINXM in India while V12.0.1.0.QCPIDXM in Indonesia. Users can download the update in the 1.8GB package.

Xiaomi is currently working on providing Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 update for its several Redmi, Mi, Poco, and BlackShark device. In the meantime, the company is also sending monthly security updates to these devices.
Some Xiaomi devices such as Mi Play, Redmi Note 8, Redmi 9A/9AT, Redmi 8, Redmi Note 8T, Redmi Note 9S, and Poco C3 have already received the January update. Meanwhile now, the Chinese OEM is sending this update to Redmi 8A smartphones globally.
The latest update brings MIUI 12 along with multiple numbers of optimization, new features, as well as fixed some known bugs for users’ experience enhancement.
